A question for the gents

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , , at 11:56 am by Mitch

Comrades, I know some of you have recently been married or will be getting married soon. Maybe you can help me on the clothing issue.

I had figured I would just go to the Mens Wearhouse (who recently merged with Mr. Tux to create the monolithic MW Tux) for my tuxes, since there’s one on every block in this city. But then I heard they were pretty expensive, and I don’t want to force people to pay more than is necessary. Another option is to go someplace more local to the venue, but that would be tough for people to get out to and get measured and everything.

My question: Where did you go for tuxes, and what was your experience? What’s a reasonable price range?

I’m going to MW Tux or whatever they call it now, mostly because it’ll be convenient for my brother and I to go, pick out styles, get measured, and then have my dad and Mo’s dad, in Portland, ME and Palm City, FL, respectively, go to their local shops to get measured and pick up the same exact items.

I haven’t done my research, but I think I’d expect to pay around $100 for a tux rental. What’re they looking like? I suppose I’ll find out tomorrow evening when I head out there.

They have a range but I guess most of them are $160 – at least that’s what I was told by a reliable co-worker.

Huh. Well, my expectation is pretty uninformed. Still, though, I’ll take convenience in this case when we’re spread across the east coast.

The price you spend on tuxedos is up to you. MW Tux has a variety of styles, prices, and designers. They are nationwide and the process is simple. You can get measured, pay for, pick up, and drop off at any location. Congratulations.
